The leadership crisis at the Nigeria Football Federation has entered a new phase after the NFF said FIFA had formally accepted the resignations of former president Ibrahim Musa Gusau, General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi and other Executive Committee members.
The announcement came after the resignations triggered a major restructuring of Nigerian football administration.
The NFF said discussions involving FIFA, CAF, the National Sports Commission and Nigerian football authorities were continuing as part of a broader reform process.
Earlier, the NFF announced that Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme would oversee the secretariat on an interim basis, while Dr Ademola Olajire would serve as interim deputy general secretary. The federation also suspended preparations for the September elective congress pending reforms.
The episode has created uncertainty around the federation's next leadership structure.
Sports Desk: The next stage will be closely watched because decisions taken during the reform period could shape Nigerian football administration for years.
