Bradford is set to celebrate African excellence, community impact, personal development and inspiring stories as the Africa4U Awards and Purpose-Driven Public Speaking Graduation Ceremony takes place on Friday, 30 October 2026.
The event, organised by Africa4U Association, will bring together members of the African community, community leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs and changemakers for an evening dedicated to recognising achievements and celebrating the power of individual stories.
Taking place at the Banqueting Hall, Bradford City Hall, the event will run from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Celebrating Six Years of African Excellence
Now in its sixth year, the Africa4U Awards continues its commitment to recognising and celebrating Africans making meaningful contributions across West Yorkshire.
As part of Black History Month celebrations, the awards provide an opportunity to shine a spotlight on individuals whose achievements, dedication, leadership and community involvement deserve recognition.
Beyond celebrating professional accomplishments, the initiative highlights the importance of representation, community engagement and the positive contributions of Africans to society.
It also creates an opportunity for people from different backgrounds and professional fields to connect, share experiences and celebrate the stories that inspire progress.
From Finding Your Voice to Making an Impact
A major highlight of this year's programme is the Purpose-Driven Public Speaking Graduation Ceremony.
Over recent weeks, participants have been developing their public speaking abilities, building confidence, discovering their authentic voices and learning how to communicate with greater purpose and impact.
The graduation ceremony will provide a platform for these participants to demonstrate their growth through inspirational speeches, transformational talks, personal testimonies and stories designed to encourage and inspire others.
Public speaking is more than the ability to stand before an audience and deliver a speech. It is about communicating ideas, sharing experiences, influencing positive change and having the confidence to make one's voice heard.
By combining the graduation ceremony with the Africa4U Awards, the organisers are bringing together two important messages: celebrating people who have already made an impact and empowering others with the confidence and skills to make their own contributions.
An Evening of Recognition, Inspiration and Community
The combination of the two initiatives makes this year's gathering particularly significant. While the awards recognise individuals whose work and contributions have made a difference, the graduation ceremony celebrates personal development, learning and the courage to step into new opportunities.
Events of this nature play an important role in strengthening community relationships, encouraging leadership and creating platforms where inspiring experiences can be shared.
They also reinforce the importance of celebrating African stories and recognising the achievements of people who continue to contribute positively to their communities.
