LAGOS — September 28, 2026: Nigerian filmmakers Damilola Osikoya of Switch Visual Limited and Nora Awolowo of Rixel Studios have entered the Guinness World Records after bringing together 51,258 people for a screening of their film Black Market in Lagos.
Guinness World Records confirmed that the record was achieved on 26 September 2026, making it the largest attendance at a film screening. The event was staged to celebrate the launch of Black Market, directed by Awolowo.
The achievement has also attracted recognition from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who congratulated the filmmakers on the accomplishment.
