Marvel Unveils New X-Men Cast as Disney Reveals Major Franchise Plans

Disney has used its latest D23 fan event to unveil a series of major projects across its entertainment empire, with Marvel's long-awaited X-Men reboot emerging as one of the biggest talking points.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced the principal cast for the new X-Men film, including Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister. The film is scheduled for May 2028. �

The announcement was part of a much wider Disney presentation that included new information about Frozen 3, Star Wars: Starfighter, VisionQuest, Incredibles 3 and Coco 2. 

The X-Men announcement is particularly significant because it marks Marvel's move to establish a new generation of mutants within the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For fans, the casting offers the first substantial glimpse of where the franchise is heading.
