A major cultural celebration in Cameroon has highlighted the importance of keeping indigenous traditions alive.
The Baka Bantu Cultural Festival — FESTIBABA 2026 took place in Salapoumbé from July 30 to August 2, bringing attention to Baka and Bantu cultural heritage. UNESCO supported the festival as part of wider efforts to strengthen the transmission of living cultural traditions.
